Re: For GPSjoe - 5 yr Anniversary at Mt. Peeley TH
So good to see you all and how lucky were we to have such good weather!? It was more emotional for me than I thought it would be after 5 years. However, hearing Christian explain his closing remarks and how he's dealing with the loss of his beloved father helped me put it in perspective. Thank you C...

I Can't believe four years have gone by and still nothing has been found. I know it's not for the lack of trying. This hiking community is awesome, thank you all for not forgetting and giving up. Contemplating of hiking Sixshooter-Icehouse loop next weekend.... last hike gpsjoe and I hiked together ...

Wow, gpsjoe and I hiked there. Lovely area.
We had two GPS' between us. I can see that without that or good orienteering skills one can easily get lost

Re: Missing hiker in Mazatzals - gpsjoe (Joe Domin)
Thank you Bob! Very interesting and hopeful that maybe there will be some findings in 2014 so we all can come to closure. This past weekend I hiked with some friends from Canyon Lake to FW. Joe loved this hike and once a year Joe and I hiked from FW to Canyon Lake, had lunch, desert, coffee and hike...

Everytime I drive up and back from our cabin I drive past that mountain range and think and wonder and remember gpsjoe and all the good and funny times we had. Miss you Joe!

Re: What's the best GPS?
I had to download the free Garmin "Base Camp" software manager.. this means learning a new Garmin tracks/routes/waypoints manager; I found the Base Camp software at first quite frustrating to learn. After viewing several 'how-to' videos at various sites, I finally got it! I also have a ga...

@rlrjamy Really glad to hear he's improving! I could have been driving a really nice car given the money I spent on my Lab... Instead, my vet is driving it. I have two yellow Labs that had their bout with cancer. Several years ago I obtained pet insurance (one of the top rated ones) and I can only ...

I've heard that in the springtime in that area rattlesnakes are particularly numerous, FYI. After doing Devil's Chasm in the snow/ice with Gabriele a year ago, I'd much rather go back in the spring. And for me the bonus would be a better chance to add to my snake video collection! :y: Don't listen ...

Shavano is a good one. Plus, you can combine it with Tabeguache for additional elevation. Also, at the south end of the range, it's closer to me. Hotels and camping in the area, and the valley is low (for Colorado) to the east, so it feels more like a mountain than just a peak in a high range. Not ...
