They're pretty fun to read! I don't think I'll keep them, so if any one wants them they are up for grabs!
I read through each one and made a bucket list!

Re: Arizona Adventure Publication
Unfortunately I have to agree with you. I'm a big fan of collecting vinyl and books, and I just can't jump on the digital bandwagon. I'm 30, and it's sad to see all of my peers discarding all physical formats of media and information.

Arizona Adventure Publication
Does anyone remember this newspaper? My father in law just gave me a stack of them that he found while moving, and I've been reading through them for several days now! As far as I can tell, it ran from 1994-1997, but I can't seem to find anything out online about it, though. I wanted to see if I had...

Fossil Springs Pool Depth?
Hey all, maybe a dumb question here, but what the hay! A few buddies and myself hiked the Waterfall Trail to Fossil Springs yesterday, and had a blast jumping and swimming. While swimming in the large pool beneath the waterfall and admiring the water's clarity, I was curious as to how deep that part...

Nankoweap Spring Break? Storm info please!
My wife and I have been planning Nankoweap for a while now for Spring Break. (Mar. 9-14) We've already go permits and all, but these last few storms and the ones upcoming are making me worried. I plan on calling the FS later on, but you guys think roads/trail will be open?

Re: Fossil Springs Cleanup and Campout! August 7-9, 2009
Hate to do it, with all the talk about people being flaky and backing out, but I am going to have to cancel this one...school starts the week after, and I have so much to do yet.
Sorry to the two of you who were interested, maybe you guys can still go and do some good!

and the 7th of September is my birthday... so you guys should come to my house and pull weeds :D haha forget fossil springs, cleanup at te-was! If the weekend before or after this would work better, I can move it. I kinda just picked that one out of a hat. I just need to be in town on the 20th. If ...

Fossil Springs Cleanup and Campout! August 7-9, 2009
No doubt we have all heard or experienced first-hand the declining condition of one of our favorite areas, Fossil Springs. Many have suggested contacting the government or authorities to clean it up, but we all know how quick and efficient they can be! So lets get active, people! It's our space, let...

Re: Ok This may get tempers going!!
Lots of talk here... very little action. True, but like Bob said, it only takes a few people to help. Seems to me that a lot of people are pretty upset about the condition of the area, so hopefully that will bring a few more people around. I just hope someone who knows the area better than I do sho...

Re: Ok This may get tempers going!!
I would be up for that. Perhaps we could put something in the hiking events section for sometime this summer. Kinda like a meet and greet for the HAZ ers while giving back to the community, and get to do some swimming too! It is smack in the center of the state, so no one can say its too far away! ...

Very true! I would be love to do this before the school year starts up again in august! Great way to make a positive impact on an are we all use, love and enjoy, and to get to know some of our fellow HAZers!backcountrybob wrote:great ideas also a good way to get together for some of u s who have not met.

Re: Ok This may get tempers going!!
one possible solution would be to organize a clean-up day, where several of us HAZ'ers actually spent a day trying to clean up the area. Just an idea.

Very true, I guess I didn't mean that to sound as it did. I would be extremely happy to just get out with other people, I didn't mean to sound so picky i guess.
Thanks for the info about ABC! Sounds like a lot of fun! I think I might join up and meet some of you folks!

Re: Tanner Trail Reopens
We did the Tanner Trail to the Beamer Trail in late march, and it was a blast! (also my first backpacking trip!) The upper portion of the descent was still pretty covered in snow at some points, and it seemed as though the rock slide had been recent. But the trail was in good shape overall, we had a...

Re: Backpacking Clubs: are you in one?
I am actually pretty new to backpacking, and was pretty curious as to whether I should join a group or not, since I don't know anyone who enjoys being outside like I do. (My friends wouldn't stay the night anywhere without cable and a shower!) It's interesting to read everyone's different takes on b...

Just picked up my new pack (my first pack, too!) the Gregory Baltoro 70! I can't wait to get it out there and use it!
I've already read all the reviews and stuff, but has anyone here on HAZ had any experience with it? Maybe things to look out for?
