I was looking over past threads getting some ideas for an upcomming trip to Havasu. Seems a lot of the recipes on that page have ingredients not suited for backpacking.

Hi - As I read your post, I immediately thought of Alpine and the Three Forks area and how badly I need to get back up there.

There was an article in Arizona Highway's 'Hike of the Month' not long ago that highlighted this area too.

I have a couple pair of the Prana Sonora Pant and have been happy with them. They are cotton canvas, but breath well, and have proven pretty durable scrambling on rocks, etc.
