Re: help with homework assignment
awesome feedback everyone. It turns out that writing a good survey is way harder than it sounds. i am getting some good data but I can see where this can be improved. I'll close the survey now and revamp it the next chance i get. Thank you all for your participation and feedback!

I made it to Mt. Peely TH yesterday! Road was easily passable for all but the last 3 miles. Last 3 miles have lengthy ~4” deep snow and ice patches, 4x4 necessary. The rain/snow we had last night may have totally changed road conditions since my visit.

Re: Mt Peeley: Latest observations + resources
Gate was open today but TH was not reachable in my 4x4 due to deep snow (~12”), ice, and mud on the north side of each hill above ~5000ft.

Re: Mt Peeley: Latest observations + resources
I've been going into the area even after heavy snow for the past couple years and all gates have been open but there is usually a bunch of blown down, burned out trees on road, particularly on the north side of the upper elevations after big storms like we had last week that prevent you from driving...

Re: Missing hiker in Mazatzals - gpsjoe (Joe Domin)
Thanks to you and Joe, I did not even use my GPS to stay on trail today, great job flagging the route. You guys took what was a very unfollowable, extreme, 13hr bushwacking hike and turned it into a manageable (though masochistic, as Joe described it) day hike. We did not see any human footprints to...

A friend and I are going to camp at Mt.Peely TH tonight and we will search the Davey Gowen trail tomorrow, we're bringing some technical gear and will repel into potential fall areas we come across. I'll post our tracks when we return.

Re: Missing hiker in Mazatzals - gpsjoe (Joe Domin)
Did Joe say anything about losing anything recently? I was thinking of hiking the Davey Gowan trail on Sunday because I am thinking that he may have lost something on his Nov. 1st trip and was going back to get it.

Where you able to confirm those were not his? Maybe he went back to find them?
nonot wrote:I passed through there, Joe removed it from the main map. Noone appeared to have been down there in awhile, although there are a pair of sunglasses about a mile from the TH.

Re: Mazatzal Dayhikes 12/3, and others to follow
has anyone been down to the gowan camp during the search? I plan on going out to the area early Sunday morning and don't see any GPS tracks down in the creek yet.
