Re: Quartz Peak sunday May 17th

The Safeway on the Estrella Pkwy sounds like the way to go. Dwnorth, can you meet us there? what kind of car do you have that we should look for? Alex, do you know where that lot is at Papago Park? I’m gonna rely on you for directions there after we leave my house. A half hour won’t make much diffe...

Re: Quartz Peak saturday May 16th

Perhaps you guys are out of my league because I wouldn't call this a short hike. Short in distance but I t...

Re: Quartz Peak saturday May 16th

I'm game to do it again. Have you gone over to Butterfly Mountain from Quartz? No I didn't. Wasn't aware of it. But sounds like a great idea!! The friend I hiked with that day has a high clearance vehicle. I can't speak for him but if he can make it that day I'm sure he'd be willing to give a ride ...

Re: Quartz Peak saturday May 16th

Just did this hike last week and it's not your 'average' 6 mile hike. It's quite a trek since, as mentioned above, it's an elevation change of approx 3000 ft or so. But the view from the top is spectacular!! As is the bizarre sight of a quartz tipped mountain. I'm game to do it again and pre...
