I look at the Mazatzal peak from my backyard, was just up there the other day orI'd go, before the latest snow storm (16inches) which now is mostly all gone, always enjoy the view of Horseshoe lake and Humbolt Mts radar dome or Enjoy! ;)

David Gowan was one of the first pioneers of the area, he is known for homesteading at the Tonto Natural bridge, he had one of the most sucessful gold claims in the region on the East Verde river west of Payson, A great free spirited mountain man

The saddest part is that the person they were out looking for, wasn't even lost or even out there, he rode a Quad to the valley, broke down on the way and got a ride the rest of the way to the Valley. some of the family knew he was there, while they were still searching for him.
