Havasu Canyon - Prep, Gear & Tips

I'd like to hear from you guys what this hike was like for you:

What physical condition were you in when you went?
How sore were you?
What time of the year did you go?
Was there any gear that you were glad you brought or gear that you wish you brought?
Any other tips would be appreciated!!!

I was at Camp Lomia last October and took a picture of the more detailed map of the canyon that they have posted, i've uploaded it to my personal gallery if you want to check it out there.

Granite Mountain Location?

Is Granite mountain the one you can see off to the west of the 17 on the way to flagstaff?

My favorite trail at Usery is also Pass Mountain! I can't wait to go on that one again, but maybe not until it cools off a bit.

Nalgene Go-Cup

At REI they run about $18, I considered buying one at Popular, but after seeing it first hand I changed my mind. It looked easy to break and the cap would probably pop off and spill. Decide for yourself, here's the link: http://www.rei.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=10284811&prmenbr=8...
