Re: Woodbury Fire - Superstition Wilderness

I noticed that the Reeves Mountain School has updated their website that shows some pictures from the burned areas around them.

Re: Hiking vehicles

I bought a new trail rig. 2014 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. It already had some stuff done, AEV lift, All the nonsense on the front bumper, and some other small stuff. I like it so far.

I rode it on the 24th. I liked it. I liked it a lot better going down hill than up, but I think thats a personal problem. ;)

Re: The 2019!! Cyclical totals discussion thread.

My numbers are way down this year. Mostly just been doing in-town hikes and I tend not to log most of those.

@hikeaz
I like that this ZR2 came out and with the possibility of a Ranger Raptor, I'm hoping this will make Toyota up their game. A front locker would be nice!

Re: FR 172 & 172A to Rogers Trough TH

Anyone hear about any road closures in the area whether FR 172 or FR 650? I received the following comment via Youtube and trying to determine if there is any truth. comment - "3/1/18 about 7 miles in and there is a new gate across the road and the new owners do not allow anyone access." I find it ...

I rarely "lol" while reading forums, but this was one of those occasions.

@SpiderLegs
I really like the Toyotas I have had so I vote 4runner. However, I'm pretty sure my Girlfiend's next car will be a Subaru since we want something small for scooting around town.

@The_Dude
On both my tacomas (2000 & 2011) I have always used BFG A/Ts and have gone through several sets. I am completely happy with them and have no plans to switch to anything else. I get great wear out of them too compared to the more aggressive tires I use on the Jeep.

Re: Apache Trail SR88 Road Closure

So I never check things like this a head of time and it just so happens I headed out there yesterday and it for sure is closed right at tortilla flat. I went over to the guy who was stationed at the roadblock, I thought it was for the water at the creek, to assure him I could cross the water safely,...

Re: Desert Rats: Will you begin a hike while it's raining?

if its a heavy down pour lasting all day, no. Light rain on and off, yes, makes for a nice day. I grew up here. A couple years ago we took our vacation to Vancouver, it poured for 2 days. One of those days was our day trip up to whistler, we still went and still got bikes, still had fun. The next da...

Yeah I saw that on another forum too. The no parking areas that have been there for years work, there is no need for further restriction. Rumor is its from the "new guy" on the block.

Re: Getting to Sycamore Canyon Wilderness -- Road Conditions?

@hanmart Were are you planning on going in from The Parson's trailhead? I believe that is FR131, it starts out smooth. It gets a little rougher towards the trailhead with a couple hills. I was out there in July and did not need 4x4. I noticed a couple cars in the parking lot and on our way out some...
