ok, so we're thinking this might sound good for this weekend. anyone have any experience with this hike? any suggestions? any special supplies we should be aware of? you all are great, I'm hoping to be a seasoned hiker like many of you one day... I'm thinking we start at the snowbowl and camp around...

I would love to have a nice campfire after a long day of hiking..in fact my love for campfires inspired a 2 month road trip bouncing around campgrounds from Alabam, California, Maine, and everything in between. At any rate, I 'll check into Mt. Lemon. It looks like it might rain everywhere this week...

We're thinking about tackling Parsons Trail because Sedona looks like it might not rain. Any advice on equipment? We have most of the basics for an over-night adventure. Is this disperesed camping or will we find a primitive camp site at the end of the trail? Can we do a campfire? I've read a couple...

Thank you all for the suggestions, I guess I have more research to do. I will look into the specefic suggestions too. We're looking for something between 5-10 miles and really anything that isn't extreme.

Weekend Trip, need advice

A couple friends and me are planning on doing an over-nighter somewhere (we live in Phoenix)...problem is we've only ever done the Grand Canyon. Would anyone recommend something within 3 or 4 hours driving for a nice backpacking trip? I was thinking maybe Parsons or somewhere in Sedona, but up north...
