Re: Darn Tough
@TooOld2Hike_EP I have been buying Darn Tough socks for many years, and QC is definitely not what it used to be. When I first starting buying, a pair could last 5-7 years for my usage. Would be nice if they offered a lifetime plan for say $50 for the use of just the SOS function when/if emergency help was needed.

Re: The Goldfields
@herdbull Parking at the Bulldog gate is an option, there is a trail that will take you to Idaho Rd. I have noticed a lot of trash lately on that corner so I suspect the owners decided enough. Not the first time carelessness of a few ruins something for others.

Re: The Goldfields
As an FYI, the parking area at the SE corner of Idaho Road and McDowell Road is now fenced and there is a “No Loitering” sign posted along the easement off Idaho Road. Looks like TH parking is no longer permitted.

The best used vehicle is the one that was well maintained and that you can afford. Those two points alone will limit the choice for you.

@AZClaimjumper With the right case, Smartphones hold up fairly well. I’ve dropped mine plenty of times and it is still operational. A ziplock bag keeps the water out.

Re: Hike Events in Strange Times
As the organizer of the event I say do whatever you feel comfortable with and then let grown adults make their own decision on if they feel comfortable attending. If you don’t feel comfortable or for some reason feel responsible for others then you probably shouldn’t have it. My .02 cents.

@SJFL I’d be really surprised if it were dry. It may be low but not dry. It’s a short hike to take a look and provide a report.
