I am looking to hike down to Fossil Creek in late April. I have tried to gather as much info online, but figured I would come to a direct source. These are my questions: Will my Hyundai Elantra make it to the trailhead or should I borrow an SUV for the drive? Detailed directions from Strawberry, AZ ...

Being that you have to have a High-Clearance to get to the remote Trailhead, this trail sees much less use then the rest of the McDowell Sonoran Land Trust.
One of the first lines in the trail description. Good to hear my Hyundai Elantra will make the trip. I really want to check it out!

I would love to check out Toms Thumb, sounds great, but I don't have a high clearance vehicle for the trailhead. Maybe someday. Thanks for the info though. I will check out the other trail.

McDowell Moutain Regional Park
Looking for a new hike. Was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on trails at the McDowell Mountain Regional Park. I am looking for 4-5 miles round trip with moderate difficulty and beautiful views. Thanks for you suggestions.
