Re: seven deaths on the Angels Landing trail since 1919

There was one small portion that one step to the left just a little off would be at LEAST a 1500 foot drop..... My one VIVID memory during that hike was seein...

Wow - that is a HUGE bummer for those ladies - I personally even tho you are definitely seeking a solution would be very wary of undergoing anything - if what happened to those ladies happens to you then you are minus a wheel. That ain't no good. There is a website out there - will see if I can dig ...

Re: It's time for Wilderness quotas

Implementing the same ideas/concepts as the Red Rock pass in Sedona area would eliminate many of these issues no? Have to say - many of the responses have been EXCELLENT reading - I enjoy coming here and reading even tho I do not post to MUCH of what I read. MANY years back - I hiked Red Rocks in Se...

Re: Desert Rats: Will you begin a hike while it's raining?

Grew up in Philly (18 yrs) then moved to Rochester NY (35 yrs) - rain is no biggie to me - proper gears helps for sure, my last hike out of the Canyon it was pretty much raining the entire time from Phantom all the way up BA - cept for the last 600 or so feet of elevation then it turned to snow show...
