Have you seen any studies done showing negative impact of this herd to native species? I tried to find one without any success. FS does not state it as reason either.

I use my Droid pretty much on all my day hikes. With bunch of available Android aps (I use AlpineQuest) it makes phone into most powerful GPS unit. Obvious problem is battery life.
