CC Cragin vehicle limit

Hello,
Has anyone been to CC Cragin and been turned away? I didn't think there was room for 45 vehicles to park there anyway. Probably not an issue if you show up early in the day. Will FEES be next?

Re: Proposed fee changes for Mogollon Rim campgrounds

None of those changes are going to cost me a dime, and probably the same for most HAZ people?
But up to $20 for a nice single campsite is fair, if that's your game.

@nonot
Mountain bikes can be fun in this area too. I think driving in from 87 to 142 is a not as rough as coming in from 260 to 144/149? 149 is usually terrible.

@tmuncy
Maybe? Kokanee or Chinook salmon might grow quickly to a size that would prey on all of the 6-10” stocker sized rainbows that get stocked by the thousands in the same lakes. But who knows, maybe Chevelon?

Re: Tiger Muskies Invade Horsethief Basin Lake

@nonot Actually the current world record tiger Muskie was caught in Idaho. It was 52.5 inches long. Tiger Muskie is a cross between a northern pike and a Muskie. Similarly, the tiger trout stocked in several rim lakes is a cross between a brook trout and a brown trout. These do reach 8 feet in leng...

WCC Bullpen Road Closed

Drove up Friday night to find Bullpen road closed at the cattle guard. Sign says closed due to flood damage. I’m guessing this adds about 2 miles to hike in.

So much for that little pool that held a few trout next to the road.

Re: C.C. Cragin closed indefinitely

Called the ranger station today. They’re fairly certain the road and lake will both be open April 26th. Was told the lake is 100% full and the water level is over the new gate at the boat launch area currently. Was also told the lake would be stocked with trout very soon, as it hasn’t been in two ye...

Re: Looking for short scenic Supes route

@sajor75 The https://hikearizona.com/decoder.php?ZTN=644 from First Water should fit the bill. About 16 miles depending on how you wander around. You'll see people out but not many once you turn off on https://hikearizona.com/decoder.php?ZTN=1300. Nice campsites along Cavalry trail, water o' plenty...

Re: Backpacking supes solo, 1st time

@Mike90
Try the Marsh Valley Loop, from First Water - counter clockwise. About 15-16 miles total. There are great campsites along the Cavalry trail, near the White Rock Springs area you mentioned. There is plenty of water of course.
