Re: Mt Ord Via Slate Creek Trailhead
I have a lifted Grand Cherokee and would not hesitate to drive it. A lifted Wrangler should have no problem at all. Last time I hiked it a month or so ago a group of FJ Crusiers were coming down as I was going up. You will be fine. Even most of the trees have been cut.

Re: Quartz Peak SOUTH access road condition since 1/20/17 on
Yes that is correct. Road from south is about the same as always. High clearance should be okay with 4x4 preferred for a couple spots. Chevy compact came in from the north. If you get out there and get in trouble feel free to call me for help. 602-478-5646.

Re: On what hike in AZ have you been the most nervous
You said not to include technical climbs and technically I don't know how to do technical climbs but I will tell you that on one of my Weavers Needle ascents (without gear) I had the full blown Elvis leg. On another trip up I slipped a little and it rattled my nerves. The most scared I have ever bee...

Re: 29 year old woman died this afternoon at Picacho Peak
It is so sad and I thought they were closing it due to financial reasons during the summer but that was just me speculating. Anyway I know firsthand that it can get extremely hot at Picacho in the summer. The heat seems to radiate off of the dark rock. Personally I enjoy a good scorcher but it requi...

29 year old woman died this afternoon at Picacho Peak
I was just alerted by Denny and confirmed that a 29 year old woman died this afternoon at Picacho Peak. She and her fiancé were hiking the Sunset Vista Trail. Authorities received a 911 call at 2:45pm. She was pronounced dead at 3:01. Officials believe the woman's death was heat related. I did a sea...

Re: Flatiron Dot/Arrow Removal
Rick Vincent is going to go up early. I may join his as tomorrow is going to be a hot one. If I don't get up that early I will be a part of the 7am crew. Currently there are about 12 between the start and the saddle. Rick is going to start from the top down. I will continue from where I left off and...

Re: Flatiron Dot/Arrow Removal
Skip the Citristrip we found a superior product. Krud Kutter Graffiti Remover. Way more effective and doesn't leave as much residue. I took back 5 cans of Citrisrtip I had for Saturday and bought a bunch of this stuff. Trust me on this one!

Angers me as well. Did they not learn from the first mistake? Caption should read 19 Bighorns and 3 large cats dead due to a failed idea by the Fish and Game Department.
