My 62 yr old uncle and I did it in 5.15 hrs in Feb of 2012. If I get off work Barrett, I'd like to go - 3 mph sounds good to me

Burned out!
Has anyone else gone through the "burned out" phase of hiking or exercise? Lately, it seems as if, life has taken a strangle hold of everything that I enjoy.....outdoors and hiking. Perhaps it's the endless Summer heat, or some other random excuse, but I'm in a deep hiking/exercise funk! I...

Sounds like an interesting trip, wish I could go. I'll be in the area, but further South. I'm doing a Madera Canyon - Patagonia/Sonoita creek - Cienega Creek trip.

Re: I give up.
I can't figure out how to use the quote option :? , but I agree with some of Cannondalekid's points. Agreed, most people will hide in the shadows and give an acceptable opinion, rather than an honest opinion. We don't want to be outcast. Positivity, is something that work's for every function in lif...

Re: NWS - Detailed Point Forecast
I prefer the detailed point forecast map, especially for the elevation forecast. It's nice to know the difference between a forecast specific for 4000 ft, versus one for 9500 ft.

I get it Jim_H. Although, these forums are open comment, open opinion. I was merely stating my opinion, not trying to spread hatred and/or ill suggestions about all campers. Again, past history is a strong precursor to future events and thus opinions about said ignition sources. Nothing more, nothin...

Re: Sunflower Fire
@Jim_H I was just tying in the fact that in this part of the valley the lightning was South of here and the Bradshaw's received a small amount of storm activity, not to plausible for lightning type fire. Past events and logic say's humans! (not the human race, just someone who was careless) I'll be ...

Re: Gladiator Fire
@Toughboots Yes, it grew that fast. I live south of Carefree Hwy and I could see a small plume this morning, I assume the Westerlies kicked in this afternoon and it took off. The storms over the Bradshaw's produced little rain on Thursday, thus I feel it was campfire or some other human activity.
