Re: What type of spider is this?

@Cheerycow We hike down the Bright Angel Trail to Phantom Ranch, where we stayed in the dorm's for 2 nights. This was the second time on the Clear Creek trail. Both times I saw the great views of the Colorado River, both bridges, and a rafting trip from the Clear creek trail. This time I went out a...

What type of spider is this?

I was recently hiking the Clear Creek Trail in the Grand Canyon and I came across a different looking spider. Does anyone know what type of spider this is? Thanks.

@nikorock28
I just read that Xanterra is not going to 'forced out' of the contract without a fight. Now this is really going to be interesting.

Re: Nankoweap Trail, AZ :: Exposed Section

I'm going to be hiking the Nankoweap trail at the end of September. I'm just wondering about the "condition" of the trail. I have read Chumley's post that there are some peeps hiking it on 9/24. Any info on the trail would be very helpful. I plan on stopping at the ranger station on the North Rim to...

Re: New $175 Permit + $300K Ins: R2R and Extended Day Hike/R

@chumley After reading most of the posts on this subject and being an avid Grand Canyon hiker, the "interim measure" is like a trial balloon. I think we all will probably have to pay a fee/permit for any hike in the Canyon in the future. This will be how they will control the amount of people on th...

Re: Garmin Gpsmap 62s

( I didn't know this until reading about it just now ) gpx files need to be in a folder called "GPX" inside a folder called "Garmin" on your SD card so that would be... /Garmin/GPX It may be case sensitive. I just tested the above and it worked! That was the info I needed. I just "tested it" myself...

Re: Garmin Gpsmap 62s

@quadman I now use a Garmin 62s and I was not aware we could save routes to our SD Card, but why would we want or need to? :-k The 62s receiver has 1.8GB of internal memory with the option of either storing multiple routes via the Track Manager screen and/or archiving multiple routes within the Tra...

Garmin Gpsmap 62s

I have question about my new Garmin gpsmap 62s. I added a 4gb micro sd card to my gps. When I connect the USB cable to my pc I see the 4gb card and my Garmin gps. When I added routes to my Garmin gps I can see them on my gps. When I add a route to my micro sd card I cannot see it on my Garmin gps. A...

Re: The Battleship - Grand Canyon

I'm thinking of hiking the Battleship peak in the Grand Canyon in September with two other hikers. I'm know the distance and AEG involved in this hike but how difficult is this hike? How bad is the exposure, how difficult is the "crux" (it doesn't seem to required ropes) should I think about asking ...

Re: Havasupai Backpacking Trip 2.0!

Hello, Do you know if you can get cell phone reception at the Havasupai Hilltop parking lot and in Supai? I'm going to hike there in April. Any info would help. Thanks for help in this matter.
