When do the Inner Basin aspens turn?

@Jim_HWhile I enjoyed my single malt scotch on the summit a certain aroma wafted up from a group seated about 20 yards below. I'm sure they all have their medical marijuana cards.

I did get up there on Saturday. Snow in the trees at the upper end of Inner Basin Trail and above Weatherford junction also. A few people in the Basin but a non-stop conga line from the saddle up to Humphreys from Snowbowl. Hundreds, I would guess. Swarms of gnats on the top. Worst I've seen it.

How much snow up on Humphreys and is the road in to Locketts OK? Would like to do the Inner Basin next weekend.

Thanks for the PIR tip. The events are 3/12 - 3/15. I think you guys did the route I'm looking at. How long did it take? Arduous. Sounds good!

I am figuring that this section could provide a good preview of what a single day out of the three or more necessary to do the whole thing (with water drops) might be like. Sure could stand to have someone with experience go with. Start just before dawn.

Did some road recon yesterday. Willis Road east from the Sierra Estrella Pkwy is do-able in 4-wheel. I am toying with the idea of doing the piece of ridge-line that surrounds the headwaters of Corgett Wash. A single vehicle can be parked where the two spur ridges nearly come together. Yes. It is a big loop with a ~4 mile side trip north to Charlebois.

Charlebois Loop II. 16 miles round trip from Peralta TH. AEG 2150'. Meet at Peralta at 0700. On the trail by 0715. Sunrise is 0732.

@skillpore Wunderground has it delivering the 0.32 inches of rain to the Mesa, AJ, Gold Canyon area through Wed about 2200. If that holds up then there will be little additional snow on Th (good visibility), and since it will have snowed until well after dark on Wed the snow will have had no chance...
