Re: Closest Cool Weather Hike To Phoenix
To each his/her own. I have preferred to just deal with and enjoy the extreme heat since moving here a little over 3 years ago. Speaking of which, I have a new amazing water jug. Just fill it with ice cubes and top off with cold water, and amazingness happens as I'm active.

Nice. I need to get re-acquainted with it, as well as hit Bluff Springs Mountain again.

While my wife works, probably a little yard work, unicycle practice, as well as starting to try to relearn guitar. Haven't forgotten guitar, but my coordination has seriously suffered since my accident months ago.

Re: gila monsters
@SpiderLegs Aren't they venomous as well as protected by law? Just curious. My wife and I have heard or read that somewhere. The few sightings I've witnessed have been absolutely amazing. The only thing I'd recommend to anyone upon seeing one is to enjoy the experience but don't mess with them. A p...

Good luck, I hope it goes well. My recovery has been going well and I hope to know just what it means to feel normal again by end of summer. That is, if some idiotic pencil pushers can be convinced to mind their own business.

Re: Broken Ankle
Care to post an occasional update on how your healing/recovery is going? My wife the doc would probably tell anyone that I'm a perfect text book example of how to recover from a head injury. Given, I've been working really hard at it and getting results, but I long for the day when I can once again ...

Hope it goes well. Don't be ashamed to speak up if you'd like assistance with getting well back into hiking. My wife has helped with me, and through self training now I'm even almost back to unicycling.

I hope you expect to get better? In an effort to help my recovery along, today I started to try to learn to unicycle again using poles for assistance. Gotta build up a little leg strength to get that skill back, and it certainly won't be an easy process. I hope healing goes well for you.

Take care of yourself. My recovery, though going well, won't be complete real soon.

Man I'm sorry to hear about your ankle injury. I can't relate since I'm sure you're aware that I almost died a few months back because of an accident, but my recovery continues going well and I should get back to 100% through more patience and hard work, and I just want to get busy hiking continuous...

small workout equipment nothing too expensive or big My workout equipment consists of an ab roller and 2 dumbbells, and it's all I need. I keep it simple and do ab rolls, curls, and pushups along with another chest workout similar to bench pressing. You could probably find what you need at a Goodwi...

In what area do you live? Whatever is close to home is what I'd suggest so that it's something quick and easy to get to, whether it's biking or hiking or both. 3 days out of the week (typically) I take a bike ride on the greenbelt, then go home and do an upper body workout. The other couple of days ...

Our hands are full, but we have had great luck both finding cats as well as finding a home for a cat on craigslist. Just saying in case you don't have luck here.

With Liz, we typically have a McD's hot n spicy, so yeah. Not as unhealthy as some other things, and we consider it nonlethal after hiking for a few hours.
