Re: What's your least favorite?
I really don't like Piestewa Peak summit for the sheer number of people and the subsequent increase in annoying behavior like blasting music from speakers (minor annoyance), and people cutting switchbacks (dangerous). I would also put Flatiron on my list of "least favorites" for some of th...

Re: 2018 Hazolutions
@Jim_H - The Kofa Wilderness is absolutely on my list. I don't have a very rugged vehicle (Honda CR-V), so it'll have to be something that's accessible. I haven't researched it yet to figure out exactly where to go, but that timeline is really helpful. I'd be happy to explore that area with you som...

2018 HAZolutions: - Hike in every county in the state at least once. I am great about falling back into my usual places, but there is a lot to explore, so I'm hoping this goal will encourage me to plan a bit more so that I can check out other great AZ spots. - Log more of my hikes here on HAZ. I hav...

You might consider the Vineyard Trail #131 - I did it on Thanksgiving weekend and we saw only two other people the entire day. Nice views and some great AZ landscape, including lava flows and Saguaro stands.

Re: 2017 Hazolutions
My goal for this year was to hike 350 miles. I did great at keeping that goal in mind Jan-March, then sort of forgot about it. Around Thanksgiving, I realized that my 350 mile goal was still within reach - though I'd be hiking a lot in December. I needed about 60 miles, so with some long hikes on th...

Re: Route Scout - GPS Topo Mapper & Recorder
@joebartels - ok, that makes sense. Thanks for taking a look at it - I really appreciate it!
Through this process, I learned a lot about RS's capabilities that I didn't realize before.

Re: Route Scout - GPS Topo Mapper & Recorder
@chumley - that's a great idea! I have a pretty good example of what I'm seeing from an attempt to summit Brown's Peak earlier this year (we didn't quite make it on the account of one person in our group's fear of heights). I added them both to this map, where the red track is from another app, and...

Re: Route Scout - GPS Topo Mapper & Recorder
Hello! I have been using RS for a while and I really enjoy it. However, it is not accurately recording my distance - it typically indicates that I have gone further than I truly have (I have been using both RS and another app, as well as comparing to my hiking partners to get the most accurate dista...
