New site question

Is it limited now to Arizona? I used to click on an option to switch to a different state, say, Utah. I can't find that anywhere.

Re: Hiking with dogs - where?

@RowdyandWidowmaker

Well, this year (Oct) looking at some of the ruins around Tonto. That's what started this, I noticed (on their website) that dogs are allowed on all but the trails where scrambling is required.

Re: Hiking with dogs - where?

@chumley

Big difference from here. We have no NP's, everything is a state park, forest, or national forest, where dogs area allowed everywhere. When I first started hiking in the Tucson area it really hit me that I couldn't find a single trail where I could bring my dog.

Re: Hiking with dogs - where?

@joebartels

Okay, question. Does the existence of the three paws (even if all three are 0) mean dogs are allowed but no one has rated it? Or, does it mean dogs not allowed, or not known?

Hiking with dogs - where?

Is there a way to tell if dogs are allowed on a particular trail? I don't see it here as an option when you look at the trail description (boy, would that be nice). Most of my AZ hikes have been in the southern area, and it seems like just about every trail as a "no dogs allowed" sign. I'd really li...

Re: Is there a way?

Agreed, we were just looking at it as an adventure hike, like we do back in the east. We were planning on having two cars and doing a shuttle trip. Contacting them is still a bugger, not sure just what the problem is. Obviously it's possible, since others do it. Maybe just calling / emailing at the ...

Re: Is there a way?

Eagle, I thank you for the time and effort to put this together, but, as Jim said, the water is going to be the issue. Unless there are water sources available, it's not going to be a go. I'm assuming there are no reliable streams along the way.

Re: Is there a way?

I understand what you're saying, and I accept your expertise. Water, et al, is why I was asking about the possibility. Distance, off-trail hiking, etc, is not a problem, have done lots of that. Water, however, is a problem. Thanks.

Is there a way?

We did the standard backpack trip in the GC this year (S.Kaibab to BA campground, then up BA the next day). We wanted to do the Havasupai Falls as well, but could never get them to return a call or an email. But, this got me wondering, is there a trail (or set of trails) to go from the BA campground...
