I am going to be thru hiking the AZT in August and have managed to get permits/reservations for bright angel in the canyon and Mather campground on the south rim, however there isn't any space available at the north rim campground on the date I expect to arrive. Where can I camp and still stay close...

The date is locked in. And GC camp reservations are made at the N. Rim and Bright Angel. I'll be hiking with my 2 kids (21 & 19). Hoping by starting in mid August some of the monsoon rains will keep us supplied with water specifically on the section south of the Tusayan. Any updates or trail inf...
