Joe & cactuscat echo my thoughts. Was in Aravaipa in early October, camped here. Makes for a perfect basecamp. Plentiful shade, easy access to the creek. Don't forget your insect repellant The Canyon is 10mi long, so you'd be logging about 16mi hiking the length & doubling back to Horse Camp...
