Re: Trip buddy Azt, Phoenix to Tucson, dec 26-31

@Conjou,
Recently I did Passage 12, and 13 with a group of my hiking buddies, that was my first hiking on AZT. I was immediately hooked. For now I am thinking some passages near Superstition/Payson area... Let's get in touch, and talk. Gmail. cycle87

Hi guys,
I am also interested in doing some passages of AZT in December. What passages do you have in mind? there are many passages from near Phoenix to Tucson, for example, Passage 12 to 19 is about 170 miles :)

Yes, I think I can do it,but I know it is much safer to be with a buddy just in case. Anyone to join? :)

Re: Solo backpacking in Superstition Mountain area

I don't have Garmin GPS or PLB like SPOT or something, but I plan to bring my smartphone with some apps like Route Scout,etc with a printed map of Green Trails Map and a compass. This should be good enough for this 1st solo backpacking in the wilderness in terms of route finding?

Solo backpacking in Superstition Mountain area

Hi there. I started backpacking this year, I have completed a couple of backpacking trips with some folks from Meet-up, The thing is I don't have any backpacking buddy to go with this time this month(the week of Christmas) , so I am debating myself if I could go out alone for a few days in the area(...
