There is a House Bill (2369) that was recently introduced that would eliminate the Arizona State Parks Board and transfer all control and responsibility to the State Parks Director. The State...

Re: Hike planning help
Scubahooker, You have some possibilities. May it will start heating up in the lower parts of AZ, but parts of the middle and Northern parts will be nice in the day, but cool at nights. You can look at these as suggestions. Gila River Kearney TH to Sunflower TH, UT/AZ boarder to S. Grand Canyon, or R...

Was up there this past weekend and was informed it did, but I do not have confirmation on the extent of damage or if provided information was accurate. Keep an eye on the Arizona Trail site ...

Re: AZT Hike/Backpacking #1-3
How is the weather in Aug for passages 14-18 Stavman - for passages 14-18 for Aug will be hot since a major portion of these passages fall under the desert portion of our state. You will need to plan your water wisely and carry plenty of it, hike only in the cool part of the day or at night. If pos...

Re: Camping options between North Rim and Park boundary?
@annemcguffey Anne - I tried finding something exact on AZT site or even the guide book. I could not find anything concrete. However, from what I could find it does lead to between N. Rim and Boundary possible you would need permit to camp outside of the designated camping area. Here is a number to...

Re: Whats a Good 3 day section for March to hike???
@Stavman Here are a few sections that you can look at for the AZT for March. Hope Camp to Italian Trap in Tucson 21.6 miles passage 9 and beginning of 10. Should have plenty of water due to wet/snow winter. Top of Rincon would have to check but could still have snow. Next Gordon to Summerhaven pass...
