One of my favorite hikes in Az, perfect for a 2 day one night backpacking trip, I really forgot when i went but at night i dont recall it being to cold, by the other post now i know where to backpack when its hell here in PHX.

I trail run In north mountain in Phx,Az (Perl Charles loop and the trail 7th st north of Peoria ave), I prefer and run solo though as im pretty slow running in my minimalist sandals :D .

Whats wrong with backpacking solo, if you always wait for the "perfect" time it may never happen, just do like "Nike" and do it. On weekends and holidays everyone and their granny is out n about im sure anywhere you decide to go their will be people.

Dont be scared of bears in Az, especially that area, i frequently backpack solo up in Payson, heber and showlow areas and to date i never seen a bear myself, they are like unicorns lol

Ideally i would prefer doing a Az exploring trip in motorcycle or even bike but with this heat its not happening lol. Im located in Phx,Az and 2wks from now plan to pack up my subaru and visit the western part of NM from South to North, then take the 260 W all the way to Prescott and head south back...

Yes, i was asking for future outings. It is allowed to bikepack the main apache trail that ends at 188az, just see all the youtube videos on it.

Where to park and ride in Apache Trail

Im pondering doing the Apache trail as my 1st bikepacking adventure, where is a good spot to park my vehicle and ride, i dont want to get back and find my cars been jacked lol but i plan to take extra easy and do some lake swimming, so most likely it will take me at least 2 days to complete.
