Re: West Coast Fire Situation & 80s Movie Trivia

Read this morning that so far this year 2 million acres have burned in California, which of course is a record. The Santa Ana's are just starting to blow so California's "true" fire season is just beginning. I've had some good success with this link as it also shows smoke impacts. https://www.arcgis...

Re: Blue Range Primitive Area - Linking Dutch Blue Creek with Bear Mtn

Steve, Those are 'volunteers' at Peralta, not USFS. Was just about to say that. Knowing someone who until just recently was a TNF employee fighting wildfires, every single thing TNF does is politically motivated. From what he tells me every decision that is made is not in the best interest of the f...

Re: 2020 Fire Season

Just got info that it's up to 500 acres now and still going. They had a helo and one tanker dropping slurry on it before it got dark. Had 3 crews on it and 2 hot shot teams on the way in. It's burning south of the 357 and between the 172 and Whitlow Dam currently. They are calling in more crews to a...

So are the decals no longer available? The 4Runner could use one.

I can't see Te'wa doing that at all. :lol:

Re: AZ National Forest Closures

@ShatteredArm
Good thing is a lot of the eastern TH have roads that need 4WD. Not so much Miles, but Two Bar, Campaign, Rogers Trough.

Re: AZ National Forest Closures

I think LDSP, Hiero and city hikes will become even busier. There's no way people are gonna drive the extra distance and then hike down that road to Tortilla, Miles, etc. Most people think the Superstitions are Peralta, FW and Flat Iron. lol

Re: FR 172 & 172A to Rogers Trough TH

@markthurman53 It's been probably two months since I've been on it but 650 was not that bad at all. It is steep especially the initial climb but other then that it was fine. Only thing to that is we have had a good amount of rain since then so that would definitely impact it. Really the only road i...

Woodbury Fire Update

Just got back from another Woodbury Fire meeting from Roosevelt. The news is not good, in fact I would say it is completely devastating. To make a long meeting short I will get right to it. Currently 0% containment and over 700 personal working the fire. As of right now they have stopped the norther...

Re: Woodbury Fire - Superstition Wilderness

Just got back from the public meeting with the incident command team on the Woodbury Fire. Here is what was covered; Fire was 9,377 acres as 7pm last night. Still 0 percent contained, however, they did state there are a couple of areas that have held for a bit but they are not ready to call them con...

Re: Frog Tanks Trail #112 - trail conditions

@AndrewAZ
Saw this late sorry. Did Frog Tanks a few weeks back. Not to much catclaw but some acacia amongst other things, definitely overgrown. I only went to about a mile and a half in from Angel Basin but it was slow going for sure.
