Found Item: Boot Knife

Hello,

I am section hiking from Stateline in Utah to Tucson. A couple of weeks ago I found a beautiful, small Boot Knife on the 2 Bar Ridge trail in the Superstition Wilderness. Please let me know if it is yours and we can figure something out.

On solo sobo thru. If I stop in Tucson what will I miss?

I started November 6th. It's been amazing. Really. I am seriously considering stopping in Tucson December 23rd to surprise family for the holidays back in Florida. The potential for a solid pure thru is already gone because I skipped 38 mi from HW 87 to Pine after dealing with 4 to 6 inches of snow ...

Okay cool. It just makes more sense to urban trail it out logistically and enjoy my walk to the Mogollan Rim.

Flagstaff urban trail or bypass out east?

Hey all, I'm currently 2 weeks into a sobo and bunkered up in Flag as the snow is about to hit. I took the urban trail in, which I believe is about the same distance to taking it out to I40 and then hitching. My question now is should I hitch out to the bypass and pick it up south from there? Is it ...

I've made it 2 weeks out here going Sobo!

Hey Hikeaz, Just want to share I started sobo November 6th with only a little day hiking experience and have thus far made it to Flagstaff. I got to say, it has been knarly and amazing. What diversity over 200 miles. I don't have any other trail experience to compare it to but it really has been rew...

Is a Patagonia Torrentshell overkill for sobo thru starting in 3 days?

Hey all, Naturally so, I am having some last minute gear doubts. Namely, my outershell. I think the Torrentshell might be waste of weight and money considering I have a Feathered Friends Jackorack Windjacket that is water repellant. What do yall think? I start sobo Sunday. Also, do ya think a 10 deg...

Re: AZT SOBO Thru Hike in Fall - Need Friend!

I am getting pushed even later. Possibly October 21st start date... so late :/ ..but I will definitely be watching your guys reports and progress if you give any. It may be really helpful to me since I will most likely be last thru-hiker of the season if I make it. Don't know what to expect that lat...

Fair enough. Might be a nice thing for first time thru hiker.

Re: leg gaiters

I know pants were mentioned above..but just want to check about it.

I am doing a late fall Sobo thru. I plan to mostly wear durable, long pants (have shorts for laundry and just backup) ..

Will pants do the job of gaiters?

Re: Water on the AZT in the Fall

A friend and I are heading up this weekend; we are planning on parking his RV at/near Jacob Lake and taking his jeep to the TH. We were already planning on caching water at Winter Road and GovRes. I'm happy to add a few additional gallons for y'all. We're already planning on hauling out any trash w...

A huge AMEN to that. Caching is getting to be an issue, have you ever tried picking up the remains of a sun-baked plastic jug after it shatters?
Noted. Got to respect the trail. Good karma may be helpful over the course of 800 miles.
