I occasionally see a hooded oriole on my hummingbird feeders. Congrats on having them nest in your yard!

@outdoor_lover
I have a decal you can have, but it is black and doesn't show up very good on a tinted window

https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/tonto/news-events/?cid=FSEPRD715957 Thanks for the info...if they are going to close First Water and Peralta, I am a bit curious why the Hieroglyphic TH is still open...and for that matter the Boulder Canyon TH at Canyon Lake Marina as well as the TH at Tortilla Flat....

@DixieFlyer Tell that to the families that have already lost loved ones. Your family might be next. I think that everybody, me included, recognizes how devastating this illness can be to those that contract it, including their family and friends...I am just saying that in the fullness of time the 2...

Re: Coronavirus and hiking

@CannondaleKid
that makes sense. Since the Bulldog Canyon OHV gates are not designated "recreation sites", i am guessing that you could still park at the gates or go through the gates if you have a permit....but I suppose that I could be wrong

@CannondaleKid
The Tonto NF facebook page mentions that entrance is limited at Bartlett Lake Recreation sites due to being at capacity. The Tonto NF has also closed some group campgrounds, again according to the FB page

Re: Coronavirus and hiking

For the folks expecting to "shelter-in-place" for the foreseeable future, you might want to run out now and buy your big-screen TV before there's a run on them and you miss out... :roll: (like that's actually gonna happen? big box stores can only wish) the only problem is that there are no sports t...

Coronavirus and hiking

Now that we are living in the era of "social distancing", it shouldn't be too surprising to see some hiking venues closed. Here are a couple of examples: * The Navajo Nation has closed all of their tribal parks: https://navajonationparks.org/public-notice/ * The road up to Kitt Peak is closed to the...

Bulldog Canyon OHV Permits

According to the Tonto NF website, they are going to change the way that you get permits to drive in the Bulldog Canyon OHV area -- you will have to go recreation.gov to get a permit and there will now be a $6 fee.

Thanks for pointing that out -- I had not noticed that this was removed from the current order. So it sounds like it is even more restrictive this year.

@mzan
some of that area is closed to hikers until April 30 due to being in a bighorn sheep habitat protection area...within the restricted area you are supposed to stay on trails...info is available on the Coronado NF website
