Closure Area Near Mt. Elden

I noticed that the closure area around Mt. Elden is supposed to reduce significantly starting today. A portion of Schultz Pass Rd, is still closed to motorized vehicles, but you can walk on Schultz Pass Rd. It looks like you can now drive in on Elden Springs Rd (FR 556) to Schultz Pass Rd and park t...

Re: Woodbury Fire - Superstition Wilderness

@DixieFlyer Seems like everything bounced back quickly, even though the first few years afterward were very dry. Obviously the saguaros will take longer...Interesting that the human restoration efforts were mostly unsuccessful. Best to just let nature do its thing. True. Other than saguaros, in the...

Re: Woodbury Fire - Superstition Wilderness

Do they have leads on who started this? Who knows, but apparently there isn't much of a penalty for this type of thing. The largest fire in AZ history was the Wallow Fire in 2011, which burned 538,000 acres. The 2 people who started that fire each received 48 hours of jail time and 5 years of proba...

It looks like they have closed the forest in an area bounded by Highway 87, Rim Road 300, and FR 141: https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/photos/AZCOF/2 ... 2115-0.pdf

Re: Coldwater Fire - Mogollon Rim Ranger District

I drove through Payson Tuesday morning and the air was thick with smoke from the fire. I came back through Payson Wednesday afternoon and the air was clear with no signs of smoke -- hopefully it will stay that way.

It looks like some Boeing 787's in China had problems with the 20 year rollover issue and had to be grounded while waiting for a software update

Re: Did the "4/6/19 GPS rollover" affect your device?

I uploaded the most recent software update for my gpsmap 64s this morning, which is version 5.30. I checked and my device is showing the correct date, although I do not know if there was a date issue prior to installing this update.

@joebartels They still do not have an updated closure order on their website. Here is the current link on their website to Order 12-17-291: https://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/fseprd532582.pdf The closure order would seem to be more effective if they would publicize it on their website a...

I have a Garmin 64s and there is a limit on the number of tracks that I can have on my device -- I believe that the limit is 100 I once had the same problem that you are having: I would copy tracks from my desktop to my device (I always use basecamp). I never had any problems accessing a track on my...
