Headed to the dragoons Saturday (west side). Was wondering if the water is flowing in the creek bed at the end of the road where folks like to camp.

So, I am going to be purchasing a new bag for winter outings mostly, if not exclusively for use here in AZ. I already have a katabatic bag that is decent to about 40 degrees for summer/spring/fall. Im looking at finally investing in a western Mountaineering bag. im just kinda torn on what to get.......

@ShatteredArm thanks for the heads up. iIf the daytime temps were to hold as they where (low 90s) id be down. However, they are forecasted (NOAA) to drastically fall to daytime temps in the 70s....and with being wet the better part of the day, and in the shade of the canyon, that equals potential h...

yeah, I was actually looking at loop options in that area. We only have one vehicle at the moment sooo yeah.

Actually, I may have just settled on doing an easy three days and hitting up the Baldy Loop. havnt been over there yet.

So, the plan was for myself, my daughter, and my wife to visit West Clear Creek this weekend. Park at bullpen, camp after the turn off on day 1, visit the falls on day two, and hike back to bull pen on day three. Looingk at the temps today I noted the daytime highs now are looking to be in the upper...

Headed to flagstaff this weekend. I will be getting there early morning. Was hoping to get some good snowshoeing in. I know of the Nordic center but is there anywhere else, was considering the east end of kachina headed uphill but not sure if it’s accessible.....

Thoughts?

can i come down to devils chasm from the north? we are camping almost directly west off 288 and was looking for the quickest way to get over there....

current conditions? i have a stock tundra, good tires, good clearance, NO 4wd

Has anyone hiked it recently? Im reading it contains loads of catclaw. Will a machete work well on catclaw? id be willing to bring one to help, along with some pruners.
