Re: Camping this weekend or next week

@joebartels
Do you think this would be a good place for a weekend camping? I'm going alone and my car doesn't have 4-wheel drive. I just need to get away for a few days. Been spending too much time in front of a computer recently.

Camping this weekend or next week

I'm looking for a nice, secluded camping spot preferrably with water and decently easy access for this coming weekend 10/18. I'm thinking maybe a 3 night camping trip, just myself and my dog. Any recommendations? I injured my shoulder recently, otherwise I'd be looking for a place to backpack into. ...

Backpacking this October

I'm looking for a good solo through hike (loop) for a 4 day 3 night sometime in October. Any suggestions?

Can be 3 day 2 night. I just need some fresh air and silence, lol.

Winter camping

Anyone have any suggestions for a 1-2 night winter camping trip in AZ? I live in Phoenix area and would prefer something within the state, but am not equipped for heavy snow camping. I can deal with some snow, but prefer a place with little to none.

@amy1300
Thank you SO much for the suggestions! I'll look into that. And really good idea on letting the forest service know where I'm going, especially in these conditions. I'm new to backpacking so it's great to receive suggestions from people on where to go.

Re: Tinder Fire

I'd also visit the Forest Service office in Payson on the way there, to let them know my plan, just in case the wind direction changes or some other thing happens. It seems like it would be a good idea to let them know you're in the vicinity. @amy1300 Thank you SO much for the suggestions! I'll loo...

Re: 2018 Fire Restrictions

I was going to do a 4 day/3 night at cabin loop trail starting this coming Monday may 7 but that area is now in evacuation zone. Any recommendations for alternative? Going solo, need reliable water sources and solitude.
