Re: Manning Camp/ Devil's bathtub loop

: queen : SHE'S BACK!!! Yep, got into horses and the country life and now I'm ready to hit the trail again. I need to do my first r-2-r and plan on this fall for that little trek! I just needed more balance in my life between my outdoor activities!

Does anyone have any information on the local Canyoneering club. I thought that I did, but I can't seem to find it. I bet they could be of great service with their wet suits, gear and ropes! Mary

I know of 2 people who has seen the mountain lion at Reavis Ranch. I have heard a bob cat in Ontario, Canada and that does raise th...

I was there for Thanksgiving a couple years ago and the colors were beautiful with the yellow leaves and the blue green waters. I was also there a couple weekends ago, but there were no signs of changing colors. Mary

Yep, I have a pair of those, they are GREAT for backpacking, light weight. They have the venting holes on the sides too, so you can walk in water protecting your feet (great bathing shoes). They are not something I would consider hiking in though, they are just great camp shoes after hiking all day....

Breakfast: Oatmeal, hashbrowns (grocery style brands, if you soak in hot water for 10 minutes, the potatoes rehydrate and you just add flavorings of your choice), or Mash potatoes, this has become my favorite as it is very light weight and filling, they also come in several different flavors. Great ...

I've also gone lighter with my gear, so I really don't need those heavy duty boots. I've been hiking and backpacking with trail runners for about 2 years now and wo...

If we dig enough we can find negative stuff about just anything. Personally I think life's too short and prefer to learn from the positives. "Take an ounce and a half off your feet and you'll go an extra mile a day." That isn't big news as I've hit hard on this factor for at least six years now. Le...
