Re: Skull mesa petroglyphs?

@overthehillsfaraway The XXX rated "happy couple" is the hard one to find on top and I haven't found it yet...only photos. :-( As @mazatzal stated, there is a very nice spiral right on trail 248 just north of the self closing gate on 247. Regarding Chalk Canyon, there are many panels and ...

Can you even fathom the total cost of these EIS drafts and summaries? I guess if they don't spend every penny of their budget they won't get it again next year...or be able to ask for more.

Half a mile long and high enough for a helicopter to hit? That's Flying Wallenda Family level difficulty.

Those $100 surcharges are going to add up to a lot of $$$. I wonder if that revenue will stay with each individual park or get sent back to the swamp.

Re: The rare Southern Arizona bird has a new name but the same old sound.

@Pivo Seeing as I have no life at the moment and have lots of time I Googled several professional birder sites and the consensus seems to be that it is the same bird with the same plumage. Many blamed a current woke movement to rename birds and urged everyone to "resist". :D In truth it s...

Cathy had four pairs of Salomons, but all had a conventional lace system which we both prefer as well.

FWIW, Cathy always liked her Salomon WP shoes... the mids and the low cut. Lightweight and comfortable.

A quick search shows that Judge Stephanie Hambrick has a history of using judicial rulings to keep folks on the trails. In 2024 she fined actor Pierce Brosnan (Bond,James Bond) $1000 for stepping off the boardwalk in Yellowstone NP and endangering "thermal areas".

Indeed. Well over an inch and a half, but the lightning strikes were the star of the show. I can't remember having as many strikes where the flash and boom were simultaneous. Still sprinkling and rumbling as I write this. The creek is certainly flowing well.

As you know, retail profit margin is not determined by how much you mark something up, but by what percentage of the total sale is profit.

@chumley
Unlike antique (pre 1898), and collectable historic pieces there is a very low profit margin in modern and new firearm sales. However, prices have doubled and sometimes tripled in recent years so a dealer doing high volume can bank some good money. Same with ammunition.
