Re: sleeping bag purchase decsions

WM Apache is nice. don't rule out cottage quilts. like DmN, i use top quilts (by hammockgear and my own DIY) and i'll never go back to a mummy bag again. *keep in mind the Apache is $580 - you can get a nice wide winter quilt(10°) from adam @ hammock gear for around $390 places to look: UnderGroundQ...

Re: Water. Flagstaff to Pine

i hiked these sections, but several years ago. so, i'll follow this thread.
there were def. sections of trail (south of bargamann tank) that were dry. or fouled by livestock.

best bet is to follow AZT class of 2020 sobo's on FB, or AZT website links. you can watch reports in real time.

Backcountrygear.com - i would have thought those guys were in the crosshairs, as it seems very easy to confuse the two retailers. i think BCG might put up a better fight.

that's the one. may have deer hunters around. but they're good folk, usually. not there to blast Rap till midnight and not there to introduce screaming kids to the misery of camping.
there's only 5 sites. pack it in, pack it out. have a blast! it's a pretty spot.
