Oxbow Fire

I was told they're roughly half a mile apart and burning on the northbound side of the 87 at MP 247. Not good.

Re: Mindless chit chat

@Jim_H

Looking at historical data for Sky Harbor it appears we are in a similar pattern as 2017. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see 118+ before the end of this month.

I forget about the cabin loop, that's a fun hike. I am not sure what we're going to do but I appreciate the feedback.

Re: Short Hike with kids

Taking my nephews this weekend to do a portion of the Turkey-Beaver loop. Probably going counter clockwise and ending it at Beaver Park. They have not had any experience with hiking and very limited experience outside of the city. I haven't hiked this loop myself but it looks like it's pretty easy. ...

Re: Mt baldy loop

I don't remember the weekend that I hiked that loop last year, but it was in the first part of June and it was still cold and a fair bit of snow in/around the summit. Not sure how 2019 and 2020's levels compare but you'll probably have have a little bit of post-holing on your trip.

Re: 2020 Fire, Campfire & Stove Restrictions

There is no shortage of miserable hiker trash out there who eat nothing but cold soaked meals on the trail. :lol:
Cold soaking is not all that bad... It'll make your appreciate your post-hike meal a bit more too. :)

Re: 2020 Campfire Restrictions

Not a bad idea considering fuels are likely higher in some regions this year than last.
