Make shift bed rolls work great. Can allways stuff the blanket in your bag or wrap around the bag you already have.

20 degree bag should be good. if your do cowboy camping invest in a wool blanket. wool is fire retardant. 55 gallon trash bags and all weather emergency should act as the water/ weather barrier. winter= wool and thermal layers. Putting rocks form the fire next to work well when it get COLD.

stuck my minimaglight in the band of my boonie hat while kayaking saguaro at night. The duct tape wrapped around the flashlight kept it in place. I can make a headlamp by taping it to the hat.

Its been awhile. Glad to see this site is still going. I was in WI for a few years where I received my wilderness first responder certification and barbers license. lame, was over by tonto national monument yesterday and it was closed. went up to payson(shoofly ruins) and took 87 back in. I saw that deer creek entrance was open and got excited. i was planing on doing an overnighter in gowan camp.
