I can confirm the nice set of sites by the junction is in good shape. I didn't stay there on our trip last month (we stayed in Pinon Camp, which is still nice, but bereft of Pinons these days)

I primarily use two different services:
1. Caltopo, as several people above mention.
2. I also have a Home membership ($33/year) to ExpertGPS, which I use a lot for editing tracklogs (deleting spurious data and breaks, remapping routes to match topo altitude, etc) and converting between formats.
