In response to ajcanable's reply: Is it too cold to hike the GC now? Should we wait until spring when its a little warmer? I know its getting cold here lately. How much time would you recommend for the trip say rim to rim?

In response to ajcanable's reply: Well, I work Weekdays and I can only hike weekends. With some advance planning I could get Friday and or Monday off to go backpacking.

In response to BillLator's reply: I would love to hike the GC. I have not done so yet. I have over 100 miles of backpacking, I'am a Scout Leader and I would like to go backpacking where I don't have to be responsible for a scout group. I am from Mesa and I work in Overgaard.
