Human History of the McDowells

Post by Crzy4AZ »

The McDowell Sonoran Conservancy sponsors free lectures that are open to the public on geology, flora, and fauna of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. There is an upcoming lecture that I thought some on HAZ might be interested in attending:

On December 6th. at Scottsdale Community College (8:00am), Len Maricsz will be presenting a lecture on 'The Human History of the McDowells'. Len is President and Chairman of the Board of the Arizona Historical Society, and has a reputation for engaging and entertaining lectures.

If you plan to attend, please pre-register at education@mcdowellsonoran.org

Also . . . . I just bought this book about how Scottsdale created the McDowell Sonoran Preserve and it's a quick read and sales go towards maintaining the Preserve:
