I do not think that Obama would really enjoy visiting our red state but it was unfortunate that he did not have the opportunity like many soldiers did in Afghanistan in 2009 to risk his life searching for the deserter Bowe Bergdahl. :-({|=
A man's body may grow old, but inside his spirit can still be as young and restless as ever.

Wow, this thread got stupid very fast. Oh, here...
Maybe?
and probably :bdh:
But, if I wanted to be bothered with celebrity hikers of any kind, and I really, really, really don't, I mean since I barely want to see any people, anywhere, ever, these days, I would want to see a celebrity hiker tackle Humphrey in Winter, because virtually no one takes a vacation to Arizona in winter to hike in deep snow and potentially miserably high winds.
So I purposely didn't put this in the political forum because there's absolutely nothing political about a president going hiking on his vacation time. [Though apparently it got moved to that forum due to the comments.]
How about it just being cool that the President hiked a trail on HAZ ...
Merry merry. Good tidings to all. : rein :

I'm a little disappointed that's the reaction. No steak intended. I thought it was a neat story.
Perhaps I shouldn't have expected (hoped?) the jackholes on HAZ to keep their unrelated opinions to themselves. I probably should have known better.

I would go with Squaw Peak to see what kind of time he could throw up. Now, the POTUS is obviously not an athlete, but I have always wondered what kind of ascent times certain professional athletes could clock in. When Steve Nash used to play ball, I think I remember reading that he was an avid hiker. I wonder if he would ever be on Squaw, Camelbak, etc.
What's the name of the trail that is down range from the shooting range at South Mountain? I like the snowflakes on the page, I thought my eyes were screwing with me.
Understand, when you eat meat, that something did die. You have an obligation to value it - not just the sirloin but also all those wonderful tough little bits.

Wouldn't taking him to one of the border hikes be better? Maybe a backpacking trip - he could experience firsthand our night-time 'border security'.
