Reymert/DeNoon night ride
I parked my jeep out in the foothills of the Mineral Mts. SE of Florence Junction and mounted my mtn. bike for a night ride to the mine/millsite of Reymert/DeNoon. The 4x4 road has a few bad spots and some segments along a sandy wash so at times I dismounted and walked the bike. From where I parked to the town site was just under two miles. The townsite is listed on the USGS topo quad as Reymert. Which is located on BLM managed lands. Another townsite is apx. 1/2 mile away and is located on the Tonto National Forest. This is also the location of numerous mines but nothing remains that resembles a townsite, while numerous stone foundations exist on the site listed as Reymert and the history folks are not sure which is Reymert and which is DeNoon. They existed in the late 1800's as Silver mining towns when the mints quit buying silver these mining camps like so many others faded away. It was a nice short ride and visit.

Nighthiker,
Reymert was bulldozed to the ground in the 1970's destroying any evidence of a town. It's approximate location was N33° 13.80' W111° 12.50'.
DeNoon is at N33° 13.28' W111° 13.84'.
Glad you found *something*. Several years ago went looking for "the best, most photographable building in all of the Southwest's ghost towns", the Silver King Mining HQ building. When we got there all we found was a foundation. Vandals had burned it to the ground.

Reymert you are refering to bulldozed is located on the Tonto and many mine sites dot this area. The Reymert on the USGS topo map located west of the mines is the located of the smelters whose remains are still standing with other remains of buildings, some erected in the 1900's. Two locations further west have also been called Reymert. At one of these sites a wooden building was removed to and supposedly relocated to Pioneer AZ. North of Phoenix. At one time a spur railroad line from the Magma line to Superior went to the mine sites located on a ridge east of the Reymert located on the topo map. This railroad line crossed US 60 near the turn off to a segment of the Arizona Trail, Alamo Canyon trailhead or Forest Route 231. I n the 70's a USMC reserve unit from Phoenix came out and cheerfully blasted many of the mines in the area, some buildings were also destroyed. As for Silver King some of the remaining buildings were destroyed by a mining company. On a ridge near Silver King there is a cemetary with three or four graves.
