Hiking / HAZ Haiku
hai·ku ( P ) Pronunciation (hi koo)
n. pl. haiku, also hai·kus
def: A Japanese lyric verse form having three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables, traditionally invoking an aspect of nature or the seasons.
Inspired by a recent e-mail - I think this would be an excellent topic for this crowd, and a great little bit of entertainment during the summer months.
Submit your Haiku - perhaps we'll even have a contest for the best submission in several categories.

haiku
White blossoms in spring;
Fruit ripens red in summer;
Wine for winter months.
Reach inside for strength;
When you have no strength within,
Reach outside for friends.
Discipline pays off.
The end of the trail appears.
I am triumphant!

Roam Arizona
Found: the middle of nowhere;
Peace, serenity.
:A2:
Man, that was tough after a five hour migraine! Thanks Olesma for the mental exercise.

Whenst I write haikus, they always are a bit silly
at Verde Hot springs
there are more "hikers" than clothes
bare buns, so you know
Joe the enigma
smiling face he rarely shows
on Tevas-he goes
hikearizona
so many hikes- but my
couch is so comfy
why do I pack my
flask every hike but then
I forget a tent?
Arizona hikers
dont like cig butt littered trails
the poll results show
I could go on, but I will resist
Great Haikus everyone
Great idea-
thanks

The wilderness calls,
Stress is nowhere to be found,
The hike has begun.
My heart can now see,
The view runs on forever,
Memories remain.
Now the call falls dim,
As city lights grow brighter,
The wilderness sleeps.
Stress is nowhere to be found,
The hike has begun.
My heart can now see,
The view runs on forever,
Memories remain.
Now the call falls dim,
As city lights grow brighter,
The wilderness sleeps.

Distant mountain calls,
The trail carries me onward,
Solitude awaits.
Empty desert sky,
Yet life crawls in the canyons,
Lizards watch me pass.
The trail eats up miles,
Desert sun beats upon me,
Cactus beg for hugs.
Off trail I travel,
No one has been here before,
Darn, a dead beer can.
In silence I walk,
Quail whistle to their buddies,
Desert symphony.
The trail carries me onward,
Solitude awaits.
Empty desert sky,
Yet life crawls in the canyons,
Lizards watch me pass.
The trail eats up miles,
Desert sun beats upon me,
Cactus beg for hugs.
Off trail I travel,

In silence I walk,
Quail whistle to their buddies,
Desert symphony.
