Shoe Weight

The more you know......Many may already know this, but it's new to me. I was adding a new pair of shoes into the HAZ gear database to keep track of shoe mileage like I have for years. I had always been entering shoe weight as a pair assuming (wrongly) that it worked into the total hiking weight like pack weight does. I would actually weigh my shoes. Instead, in the footwear industry, weight indicated in their description, is almost always listed per shoe to make it easier to compare the "heaviness" of a single step.
