Any Hikes around Crown King?
I am 4-wheeling up the backside of Crown King early May and would like to do a hike somewhere close to crown king. We won't be into town until probably 2-3pm, so I think I want a short hike if possible. Any ideas? I would like to backpack in and stay overnight, then come back out the next day.

Hey welcome to HAZ
There are some good options up there, no big thrills, just pleasant. Once you are up in Crown King, Horsethief Basin is just south with maybe a dozen options.

- Crown King is the gold marker
- Red markers are trailheads for hikes
- White markers are what member have hiked and uploaded via GPS or traced on via satellite
Jim Creek #235 might be a decent option, just hike a ways out. Just stay away from the Twin Peaks Trail #234, possibly the gnarliest catclaw on earth.
East Fort Trail #31 is a great little hike with big views. Didn't seem like prime camping though as it's steep and choppy getting over to the overlook.
