#10 cans are a much less expensive option vs. the one meal in a bag, plus you have access to more choices and you can choose your own portioning. Freezer bags are a good substitute for the foil bag, just be sure to use your cap, camp towel, etc. to keep the meal insulated while it rehydrates.
There are also a couple of local stores sellling #10 cans 1) certain Wal-Marts now carry some freeze-dried foods in #10 cans - for example 202 & Williams Field), but the store I use if I do not have time to wait for a mail order is 2) http://www.honeyvillefarms.net/ - they have a store near Chandler Bl. & I-10. They also carry Aqua Mira products.
