Lance Armstrong
I just saw breaking news that USADA has banned Armstrong for life. He said he will no longer fight the allegations against him.
WHAT A LOAD OF PUMPKINS!

Understand, when you eat meat, that something did die. You have an obligation to value it - not just the sirloin but also all those wonderful tough little bits.

Say it ain't so!! If we can't believe in our sports figures and the sanctity of sport what can we believe in. At least I can go to sleep knowing that the Kardashians' b

Re: Lance Armstrong
I wonder how the "U.S." anti dopeing association can strip him of his seven wins which took place in FRANCE. I thought pro racing was overseen by UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) who couldn't convict him after multiple tries. The man never failed even one drug test. Even IF he was doing something, it couldn't be detected. If there is no way to detect something at the time how can you go back 10 years to convict now? I think that this stems from discord between he and the guys that were below him on the teams that he rode for. they resented the fact that Lance was always the golden boy that got all the attention and endorsement opportunities. several of the guys that testified against him were my heroes until all this back biting started with accusations against Lance by Floyd Landis who, by the way, was stripped of his single win of the TDF for failing a drug test!

Re: Lance Armstrong
I can't say whether Lance was clean, but almost nobody who came before him was. Eddy Merckx surely wasn't (he got busted several times over a nine-year period, although not specifically on the TDF), and nobody would dare talk of stripping his titles.

@big_load
that's true, I hope his son, Axle Merckx, stays clean. stripping should be kept in clubs, or maybe bachelor parties!

Re: Lance Armstrong
If Lance Armstrong was taking performance enhancing drugs, you can bet everyone riding with him was taking something similar. That sux.

@mnlumberjack "Everyone riding with him" probably being everyone else in the race (or at least a substantial portion), and in every other major cycling event there ever was, going back 100 years. Cycling has never been clean, while it has always been ahead of other sports in both testing and countermeasures.

Years ago when I was a triathlete and bike racer the big thing was caffeine suppositories....beterarcher wrote:As for me, I just dope up with lots of Caffine and carbohydrates (coffee and doughnuts) ;).
Well that's what I was told and I'm sticking to it.
Two years ago a man walked into my gallery. A man that I would bow down to, my hero. We talked about many things and the Lance issue came up.
He said you can't climb this pass or that one, day in and day out without something......It's not human..
The truth will one day come out he said.
It was an honor to meet Greg Lemond.

On a related note, if you own a Samsung Galaxy S or other Samsung phone, please return it to the place of purchase. They're gonna need to melt it down to pay that $1 Billion fine for cheating in another race.

Lance Armstrong is an amazing athlete. Who cares if he's used performance enhancing drugs? The athletes know the risk and the fans want the speed and intensity.

also, the USADA's authority is questionable in this matter. They're are using this high profile case to gain power in yet another sport.
