Re: Verde River Trail
Was curious if you ever hiked the verde river trail. Getting ready to do it, except in the opposite direction- drop off at the Sheep Bridge then hike up to Strawberry. If you have I would like to hear how it went.

Re: Verde River Trail
Here is what you can expect on this trail for the last 10.8mls, from the river ending at the "Twin Buttes TH":

Bare in mind that this original post below was back in Mar'06.. you might consider sending that person a personal message(PM) via the HAZ site if no one else can offer you more recent info going in from the "Sheep Bridge TH". Also, sure you already know that the low starting elevation of the "Sheep Bridge TH" could still be pretty warm for this time of year.

Re: Verde River Trail
Check out the site for the Tonto National Forest and search for the Verde River Guide. It's made for floating/kayaking the river, but there's a nice mile-by-mile description of the river, trails which access the river, campgrounds, etc. which may also prove to be of some use to you.
I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.

Re: Verde River Trail
It ALL going to be warm this time of year. The Verde runs through the desert right up to the climb out. That climb out - so yas know - goes from 2600' to 5900' in about 11 rocky-boot-destroying miles. And fill every container you have before you leave the river. There's nothing but cattle tanks between the river and the Twin Buttes TH.
