I gave him the tow rope because I couldn't begin to figure out where to attach it on that thing that wouldn't bend something.

In most cases they have a something that looks like a large eyebolt hiding somewhere in the trunk, that screws into a socket in the front frame of the car. The socket is often hidden behind a small removal panel. The same applies to many other sedans that have no permanent tow hook points.

My DD is around 40 MPG, and 280 ft-lbs torque at 1700 rpm. Very hard to get in a Subaru. Of course that's not my cow crusher I am talking about.

Belinda hung pantie liners inside my LC to help mitigate the smell.

She also hid some in my LC, that I didn't find for years. Still not sure I found all of them.

Reminds me of our Utah trip in 2013 when the Cherokee developed a bad oil leak the day we were about to leave so the last-minute solution was to take Tracey's Honda Fit. (Originally the leak was minor... but the shop that fixed it made it worse!)

Without the Cherokee we had to modify our plans somewhat but made it a whole week driving to five different hikes without any issue... until the last hike of the trip, which was to Seven Kivas. It had been near the top of our to-do list so come-hell-or-high-water we didn't want to skip it so we took a chance and with an abundance of caution we drove all the way out Cigarette Springs Road to the trailhead.

The return trip was a bit more of an adventure when an unseen 6" drop on the other end of a flat boulder managed to hang the Fit up with a front wheel off the ground. Stacking a few rocks under the tire and a bit of rocking and we were free... of course Tracey wasn't too enthused about the ordeal.

Unfortunately, I've since shut down my website so the link in my triplog is no longer valid but I had posted a 2-1/2 minute video that Tracey filmed during the drive back out, which showed just how rough the road was.
After that drive Tracey said, never again!

Had another one of those appreciative moments walking to my car today. I’ve had my Outback for a little over 6 months and I couldn’t be happier. Stereotypes be damned, it’s an all-around great car.

I'm driving a stock 2017 Outback and it gets me pretty much everywhere I've wanted to go in the past 5 years. Plus enough room for all 6'3" of me to sprawl in the back to camp out on occasion. Moving houses this weekend and I'm finding out just how much stuff you can cram into an Outback when I'm running stuff to the new house. Even fit my beer fridge into it a few weeks ago. At this point I don't think I'll ever drive anything else.

Off-Road trips with Jeep Cherokee's should be avoided.

A Grand Cherokee? For sure.
For my Cherokee? Over five years of hard use over the nastiest terrain, it NEVER let me down while on-the-trail.
Oh sure, things went wrong and things broke, but I was always able to get back using whatever tools I had with me.

The most memorable for (Tracey anyway) was a very loud bang when the main leaf broke on the left rear spring while on a twisty spot along FR 25A.

Thanks to two different jacks, a number of ratchet-straps, two regular vise-grips, one large mouth vise-grip and a few assorted odds-and-ends, I got it together enough to turn around, drive back through the twisty spot and all the way back home. Even drove it for a few days waiting for the requisite Rubicon Express replacement spring... as rare a case as it was (one-in-a-million was their quote) they had no problem warrantying the spring.
(The oil leak did not happen off-road, it was caused by poor mechanic work, which I fixed myself permanently when we returned from the Utah trip)

My 2006 Baja made it up Nellie Creek Road to the Uncompahgre Peak trailhead, probably the toughest test I've put it thru [ photo ] . Still driving it, just hit 220K miles.

I literally bought a new Jeep a couple of weeks ago with one of the primary reasons being I want to do that hike this Sept and don’t really want to worry about my vehicle.

older vehicles easier to fix with off road failures. These newer ones you might need a bag of chips to fix them with all the electronics.
My old red jeep-- broke a motor mount, we used a log type chain on the engine as had some more frame twisting to go, broke several leaf springs at different times, still drove it, had a steering malfunction, field fix for that, Several broken shocks, drivable, lost muffler on Powers hill road, some wire to hold up rest of exhaust system, tranny seal blow out, stopped an got some fluid at a gas station and drove it home with periodic fill ups, rear diff blow out, stopped and got fluid fill for that and got home.
Had some damages to my 07 FJ and of course in true Toyota style got me home then too.

Oh, almost forgot my one time stranded with the Red Jeep with a water pump failure up on Wild Horse Mesa out of Page/ Big Water. Up there a few days until some folks brought parts and did a field fix. Made some Navajo friends that enabled me to go some really awesome places in the area after that, so it was worth it.
