Fremont and Doyle Peaks

The plan is to leave from Schultz Tank around 10 am and hike to Doyle Saddle. From there we will hike up to Fremont and Doyle Peaks. See the 22 year old register on Doyle and the even older cabin which is falling apart. It will be a little early to have peak color on the Weatherford, but it should still be good and will hopefully be a nice day.

bummer... I gotta bail on this one and play the good boyfriend. I'll have to find a trail to tackle on Saturday instead...

So, we're less than a week out, anyone else care to commit or cancel so we can get an idea of who will be out there? Jake, you in?
Since Liz is the only committed person so far, what do you drive? Would you be interested in ride sharing from the end of the pavement? What about anyone else who may make this hike? To be clear, I prefer not to drive my little delicate car on the 420 this time of year. It is usually really wash-boarded and a little worse. I had expected to be able to take the road in from US 89 east of Elden, but that is closed due to the fire and I expect that will also increase traffic on 420.

hey jim
i'm gonna officially cancel so as not to keep you hanging, but may be up there anyway
i'm waiting for someone to decide whether they want to come with me
i get off work at 6:00 a.m., but don't want to drive by myself feeling sleepy
definitely need to make a visit to FLG to see the aspens and get some fresh, cool, pine scented air

It's looking like I might have to go to the Valley on Sunday, but I'm not sure one way or another right now. Sorry Jim.

Yeah, I'd say it's best to skip something like this if you've been up for a night of work.

Well, maybe it wasn't meant to be. Liz is looking to bow out, and I might put it off to Tuesday if no one else (like Liz or Jake) is going on the 3rd.

Is Bruce Coanbru? Well, he hasn't committed yet, so...
Unless he just changed his username, I must be a little dyslexic. Do you know how many times I've read his name a conubra?

I don't think I can commit unless we move the time way earlier, and I know you're not down with that, Jim.

Well, the forecast for today is only low 50s with a 50% chance of thunderstorms up there, and the webcam shows no signs of color on the Weatherford trail, so it doesn't look like today would have been all that great to do this anyway. What do you know. I plan to do an easier Elden-Heart-Christmas Tree trail loop instead. It will have color on it, and it is better for my schedule. Maybe I'll do this in a few weeks or something, but maybe not. I think you should have some color for next weekend, as it is going to be typical Flagstaff this week: miserably cold and windy.
