Hatch Chiles
2012 Hatch Chile season has started. I found them at Bashas for 49 cents a pound so bought 3 huge bags (close to 10 pounds) and roasted them on my grill this afternoon. Hatch Chiles are the best and I use them in everything.......soups, salads, sauces. Roast them then freeze them for use later. Love them!!!

Re: Hatch Chiles
It all sounds good. Maybe I'll come over and chow down.
One time my husband insisted we stop by the side of the road and purchase many bags of roasted chiles. They all sat in the freezer for five years, and then I threw them out. I hear my neighbors talk about cooking with them, but I just don't get around to it. A jar of green chile salsa which I keep in my fridge to add to my scrambled eggs is about as far as I get with green chile ingredients. I know how to make tacos and enchiladas and guacamole, but making giant pots of sloppy green meat has somehow never occurred to me. I am sure it does taste pretty good, though! I just hate to cook...

Re: Hatch Chiles
Once this is scheduled, I'll make either my green chili pork stew (it's almost like a Posole) or the Cuban pork (but "gone wild" with hotter chiles).
